What should Nepalese tourists guide have to do to attract foreign tourists towards Nepal

A person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the cultural & natural heritage of an area, which person normally possesses an area-specific qualification usually issued and/or recognized by the appropriate authority is called tourist guide.
A tour guide(or tourist guide)provides assistance, information and cultural, historical and contemporary heritage interpretation to people on organized tours, individual clients, educational establishments, at religious and historical sites, museums, and at venues of other significant interest.

The tourist guiding qualification is specific to each and every country. In some cases the qualification is national, in some cases it is broken up into regions. In all cases it is embedded in the educational and training ethic of that country. The Art of Guiding is a skill. It is the skill of selecting information and varying it for different audiences. It is the skill of presenting it in a simple and precise way. It is the skill of allowing the visitor to see and to understand. It is a skill which, if well performed, is invisible.

Tourist guide should be experienced as a guide. As other countries in the world, the main work of Nepalese tourist guide is to make the trip of foreign visitors enjoyable.Nepalese tourist guide should show many important places & things to foreign tourists. They(Nepalese tourist guide) should explain historical, cultural & geographical places of Nepal to them(foreign tourist).
They should satisfy them. They should not convey any wrong information about Nepal & Nepalese people. They should explain about Nepalese arts, culture, languages, fashions, architecture, etc. to them. They should bring them to beautiful places of Nepal such as gorkha,Ilam, pokhara, patan ,bandipur, kathmandu, lumbini, bhaktapur & other places. They should request the local people of Nepal to explain their culture & tradition among foreign tourists. They also describe them about temples, historical building, arts & architecture of bhaktapur & kathmandu. They should have good knowledge of languages such as english, french, japanese, italian, portugese, hindi in addition to their mother tongue,Nepali so that they can easily know what tourists is saying.
Just to show places & things is not only the task of tourist guide. They should have to manage medicine, transportation, camping, hotel booking, etc. They should have to deal with various problems & difficult situation that can arise during a tour such as mistakes in hotel booking, lost passport, illness ,theft, pickpocketing, etc. They should have to make them sure for sense of security. They should manage all the equipment needed for treeking.Sometimes they should lead them to mountain sides, national parks for elephant riding, rivers for rafting. They should have good relationship with tourists so that they can easily fascinated them.
They should have encourage them to visit Nepal regularly. If tourists become happy with tourists guides, tourists give some dollar as reward to tourists guides. If their would be increase in number of tourists visiting Nepal,Nepal have got more foreign currency from foreign tourists. As a result, here's economy will be developed.Since then ,our country will also developed. With this impressive work of Nepalese tourists guides ,more foreign tourists attract towards Nepal.

DEVIS FALLS

Devis falls remains one of the most visited Tourist Attractions in Pokhara. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal, Pokhara is tucked away in the northwestern corner of the Pokhara Valley which is an extension of the Seti Gandaki valley.Devis falls also known as the Patale Chhango, can be traced around 2 km south of the spot where the Lake Phewa drains into the Pardi Khola. Here, the terrain drops sharply and the river plunges over the Devi Falls before disappearing into a sink hole. Devi's Falls is a must visit site for you as part of your Sightseeing in Pokhara while you are on your Pokhara Tours. Pokhara is the city in Nepal which is famous for its water falls.
Devis falls re-emerges after approximately 200 meters from the sink hole. After that, it flows into the Phusre Khola. The marvelous waterfall cascades down at the south side of the Fewa (or Phewa) Lake in Pokhara. The origin of the name of the falls can be traced back to an unfortunate incident which took place some times around 1960's. A foreign couple was swimming near the dam-site of the lake. A lady named Devi was swept away by the current of the lake when the dam locks were opened. And since then, the falls have been named after the lady.

Pokhara is famous among tourists and travelers for its mountains. But, Pokhara has lot more to offer than just that. Devis falls s also one of the major tourist attraction spot in Pokhara. You can visit this site any time as it is open on every day of the week. The cost of the ticket is affordable and it is worth visiting. The falls increase in volume considerably after the monsoon but in January, it becomes nothing more than a stream. This is because there is a mass decrease in the water volume of the Fewa Lake during winter. To maintain the water volume within the Fewa Lake, the dam is closed. This causes the Devi's Falls in Pokhara in maximum decrease in its water volume.

You will find here interesting rock formations made by the high velocity of the water flowing within it. For some of the greatest breathtaking views of Devi's Falls, you should head for Chorrepatan. There is also a cave in Chorrepatan just two minutes’ walk away from this fall.

BUNGY JUMP:The terrible activities

Nepal is a tourists destination country where every tourists desire will be easily fulfilled.Tourists have many desires such as rafting in river, taking photos of beautiful scenes, knowing the culture of country, having bungy jump, etc. As other countries in the world, bungy jump is also conducted in Nepal. The tourists attracting towards bungy jump here in Nepal is increasing day by day.
Simply, bungy jump is a terrible activities.Bungee jumping is a recreational activity that involves jumping from a high surface while attached to an elastic cord. One end of this elastic cord is attached to the jumper’s body, while the other end is attached to a stationary object at the jumping point. Typically, bungee jumping involves leaping from jumping points that are several hundred feet or meters high. The elastic cord used in this activity is designed to stretch during the jumper's fall and snap back up repeatedly. This causes the jumper to bounce up and down over the length of the jumping area until the energy from the jump has been depleted.

A person having no strong heart cannot have bungy jump.A person who wants to have bungy jump, should be confident of himself.A person under the age of 12 are not allowed to have bungy jump.Today both internal & external tourists come here in Nepal to have bungy jump. This activities also help our country to earn foreign currency.

The sport has finally found a natural home in the highest mountain range in the world. The ultimate thrill of a bungy jump can now be experienced in Nepal at perhaps the best site in the world.

Nepal's first bungy jumping site is situated 160m over the wild Bhote Kosi river, and located close to the Nepal-Tibet border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu. As can be arranged on arrival in Kathmandu. As of now, there is only one agency offering this sport. The jump, at 160m, was designed by one of New Zealand's leading bungy consultants, and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in the business. It's mishap-proof. The agency takes safety "very, very seriously".

Location:

Less than 3 hours outside Kathmandu by Ultimate Bungy Shuttle. You will travel the Arniko (Kathmandu/Lhasa) Highway to within 12km of the Tibet Border and the famous Friendship Bridge.

The Gorge:

Ultimate Bungy Nepal takes place on a 166m wide steel suspension bridge over the Bhoti Kosi River.

And... those are Swiss measurements! * Over 6000 meters of steel wire was used to build the bridge * Longest suspension bridge in Nepal * The bridge joins two sides of a great valley. Before its construction, locals walked five hours to cross this river gorge.

FISHTAIL MOUNTAIN

Nepal is a beautiful mountainous country.Nepal is famous all over the world for its natural beauty.Nature have given all things to Nepal. Many tourists from all over the world come here in Nepalto see here's mountains. There are many mountains & nature gifted things here in Nepal.Nepal is famous in the world for mountains. No countries in the world have such a nany mountains as in Nepal. The world highest mountain i.e.mount everest (8848 m) is also in Nepal.Besides many mountains, fishtail(machhapuchre) mountain is unique one.
Fishtail mountain is a beautiful & attractive mountain. This mountain is in kaski district of Nepal. This mountain is called fishtail mountain because the shape of this mountain is like fish tail.We have also a chance to see the shape of tiger here in this mountain. This mountain is 6993 m tall. This mountain is 34th highest mountain of Nepal. This mountain have lured many internal & external tourists heart every year. This mountain has also help our country to earn more foreign currency.Tourists take photo of this mountain. They cannot climb this mountain because it is not allowed to climb this mountain. This mountain is looks very beautiful especially in the time of sunrises. This mountains reflection into the bosom was more beautiful than itself.
Considered to be sacred by the local inhabitants, the Fish tail mountain is a treasured spiritual site of the Nepalese.

  • Machhapuchhre or Fishtail is the second highest mountain of the Annapurna Range.
  • It has supposedly never been climbed.
  • It is considered holy by the people of Nepal as it has been untouched and therefore is pure.
  • It lies across Modi Khola in Pokhara.
  • Reflecting sunlight at early dawn, the holy mountain of Machhapucchre is an unforgettable sight.
  • The Fishtail mountain lies only 28 killometres to Phewa Lake.
  • It is one of the most photogenic mountains in the world .
The fascination with Fishtail lies purely in the fact that it has never (officially) been climbed. Although it is visually a splendid sight, there are many others in the Annapurna Range of similar status to appease the climbing fraternity. Trekkers, who form the vast majority of tourists in the area, are unlikely to want to venture any further up the mountain than the already accessible - and somewhat inaptly named - Machhapuchre Base Camp. The relatively few extra climbers who would be attracted to the region would not justify a decision to open the mountain, either financially or environmentally. Keep Fishtail sacred and let us all enjoy its unspoiled beauty from the correct perspective.
Mount Machhapuchhre is incomparable, thanks to its fish-tailed pinnacle. This features makes it one of the most renowned mountains in Nepal Himalayan range. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the snow-blanketed, needle-pointed mountain is a visual feast, to be least said. Mafestically protruding out in the skyline, the view of the mountain provides wings to the thoughts of the poets. Climbing on the mountain has been restricted, for it is considered sacred by the locals. Machhapuchhre mountain is known not only in Nepal but all over the world for its magnificence. Machhapuchhre' means fishtail and comes from two Nepali words Machha (Fish) + Puchhre (Tail).
For viewing Machhapuchhre from a close up, take a mountain flight from Pokhara that takes you on an aerial sightseeing tour of the Western Himalayas. Although the highest among the Western Himalayas is Annapurna I (8,091 m), it is Machhapuchhre which dominates all others in this neighborhood.

HANUMAN DHOKA DURBAR SQUARE

Nepal is a tourists destination country.Nepal is famous all over the world for its history & cultural heritage.Nepal is known as the birth place of cultural heritage. There are many cultural heritage sites in Nepal which lured everyone hearts. The UNESCO had named seven cultural heritage sites of Nepal in 1979.They are pashupatinath temple of kathmandu(KTM.),swoyambhunath stupa of KTM.,bouddhanath of KTM.,hanuman dhoka durbar square of KTM.,patan durbar square of lalitpur, changunarayan temple of bhaktapur & lumbini of rupandehi district of Nepal.
But hanuman dhoka durbar square of kathmandu is one of the unique one because it has both historical & cultural glory.Hanuman Dhoka (Hanuman Gate), with several complexes spread over an area of about five acres, is the social, religious and urban focal point of Kathmandu. The square is the complex of palaces, courtyards and temples that were built between the 12th and the 18th centuries by the ancient Malla Kings of Nepal.

Let us visit Hanuman Dhoka to find out what lies in store for us:

The Palace Entrance
We start from the entrance of the square. On entering the palace or Durbar square, there lies 17th century statue of Hanuman, covered in red clothes and holding an umbrella. This is a highly revered statue by the believers of Hinduism. On the left is an interesting sculpture of Lord Narasimha, the half-lion incarnation of Lord Vishnu, tearing apart the demon Hiranyakasipu. The statues and sculptures are indeed overwhelming.

Nasal Chowk
Next to the Hanuman Temple near the entrance lies the Nasal Chowk. The Nasal Chowk courtyard got its name from the beautiful image of Dancing Shiva, on east side of the Chowk. The Chowk has historical importance considering it was the place where King Birendra was crowned in 1975.

The Chowk also has the magnificent nine storey Basantpur Tower, with intricately carved doorways, windows and struts. The golden image of Maha- Vishnu in the open veranda on the eastern wall of the Nasal Chowk will leave you spell boumd.

Panch Mukhi Hanuman Temple
Next we reach the Panch Mukhi Hanuman temple. This venerable temple dedicated to Hanuman is in the northeast corner of the Nasal Chowk courtyard. It has five circular roofs.

Basantpur Temple
This nine storey tower offers a great view of the palace and the city. On a clear day, the awe inspiring Himalayas can also be glanced at from the top of this tower. The struts on the facade of the tower have erotic carvings on them. Apart from the Basantpur tower, there are three other towers constructed by King Prithivi Narayan. The names being Kirtipur tower, the Bhaktpur tower or Lakshmi Bilas and the Patan or Laitpur tower.

Mul Chowk
Dedicated to Taleju Bhawani, the goddess of the royal Malla family, Mul Chowk courtyard was dedicated to religious activities. There is a small Taleju Temple with a golden torana in the south side of the courtyard. The deity of Taleju is moved to this temple during the Dasain festival. There are images of the river goddesses Ganga and Yamanu on either side of the entrance.

Mohan Chowk
Next we reach the Mohan Chowk . This site is only for seeing from a distance. The residential courtyard of the Malla Kings was built in 1649. It is a protected site and cannot be therefore entered.

The golden waterspout called Sun Dhara is in the center of the courtyard. It is the place where the Malla Kings would bathe each morning.

Tribhuvan Museum
This museum is a must visit for lovers of history. Tribhuvan Museum lies on the west side of Nassal Chowk. It contains an exhibit of items of the past Kings of Nepal. It has excellent stone carvings, several spectacular thrones, jewel-studded ornaments used for coronations, weapons, furniture, wooden temple carvings, and a coin collection.

There is a recreation of the king's bedroom and study, which contains the king's personal belongings. This part of the palace, next to Durbar Square, was built by the Ranas in the mid to late 19th century. This site is only for seeing from a distance. It exhibits the thrones and other valuables of King Mahendra.

We have finally completed our shot and sweet visit to Hanuman Dhoka.

Good to know
There is a 17th century stone inscription in the Hanuman Dhoka that is set on the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. It is believed that if anybody deciphers this entire inscription, the milk would flow from the spout, which lies just below the inscripted stone wall. Some people say that the inscription contains coded directions to a treasure King Pratap Malla has buried beneath Mohan Chowk of Durbar Square.

Outlook
Hanuman Dhoka means 'Gate of Hanuman', the monkey god of Ramayana fame. Today, dozens of monkeys call this square their home. Hanuman performed herculean tasks on behalf of the other gods. The Malla dynasty's kings used Hanuman's image on their battle flags, and in 1672 placed his statue outside the Royal Palace to ward off evil spirits and diseases. The Hanuman Dhoka, therefore, has great historical and religious importance.

Nepal is a tourists paradise country.Nepal is a birth place of culture. Most of the tourists from different countries come to visit Nepal's historical & religious place. As others countries in the world,Nepal has also a historical & religious place.Among them,Muktinath Temple is one of the popular religious tourists site which is famous all over the world.Muktinath Temple lies in the mustang district of Nepal. This temple has its own glory 7 pride. This temple has a feature of attracting more internal & external tourists towards it.Today more tourists from all over the world come to this religious site every year. This help our country to earn more foreign currency.

Muktinath temple is very small. It is one of the most ancient hindus temple of God.Muktinath Temple the altar of which is presided over by Vishnu (the preserver god of Hindu mythology) and his consort Laxmi (Hindu goddess of wealth). Around the main altar you can find images of Saraswati (Hindu goddess of learning), Garuda (the birdman vehicle of Vishnu) and curiously Leonardo Di Caprio (the diminutive film star) amongst others. Behind the temple are 108 cow-head shaped waterspouts. Bathing under these is supposed to bring salvation but I suspect it’s more likely to bring pneumonia. It is situated 48 km north east of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3749 meters above sea level. The temple is situated on a high mountain range and is visited during fair weather. During the festival of Janai Purnima, Hindu devotees gather here to pay homage to lord Muktinath. The visitors get lodging facilities at Dharmasala and Maharani Pouwa. Another famous temple of Jwaladevi, the goddess of flame, is situated about hundred meters south of Muktinath. It is a great example to our world of a sacred place shared in harmony by devotees of two world religions. The traditional caretakers of the place are the Muktinath Nuns. In spite of the tourists and pilgrims visiting Muktinath up till three years ago they did not get any support on a structural base outside Muktinath Valley. Nepal has always been known as "a land of piety" and "the dwelling of the Gods" and many aspects of primordial history, religion, culture and tradition as well as legends and myths emanate from the awesome Himalayas. The Muktinath Temple was consecrated in 1815 A.D by Queen Subarna Prabha, the wife of Rana Bahadur Shah. This temple is built in a Tibetan pagoda style and contains huge brass idols of Lord Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma and Kali. The local name for Muktinath is Chumig Gyatsa. Both Hindus and Buddhists have visited Muktinath – Chumig Gyatsa for hundreds of years and this place reflects a unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. The views from Muktinath are enchanting as golden rays of the rising and setting sun are reflected by the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri ranges. The entire panorama is filled with a golden glittering light which forms a dramatic contrast with the barren and dry mountains of the surrounding Kali Gandaki Valley. Muktinath is one of the five most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus.Muktinath is one of the five most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. A trip to Muktinath is often called as a 2 in 1 trip. For western tourists, a trip to Muktinath not only provides a trek of a lifetime amidst the barren valley and lofty Himalayan Ranges, but also gives them an opportunity to see the homogeneity of Hinduism and Bhuddhists in the same place. Muktinath actually lies along the route of the Annapurna circuit trek. The winding trail to Muktinath passes through magnificent forests of oak and rhododendron that line the Southern foothills of the trail. In January and February these areas may be covered in snow but during March and April there will be a blaze of red rhododendron flowers here. In Muktinath, the original fire burns in water in harmony and the rocks and soils are as they were in the beginning of time.
